AMPLIFIER CONSTRUCTION

 

The first amplifier re-designed and re-built in 1963 by John. His modifications resulted in a monster which produced 100 watts from 4 x EL34's !

 

John worked on the above amp back in 1963. A 100 watt amp which had been produced by one of the big-time manufacturers was quite something back in those days, let alone one coming off a 12 or 13 year old schoolboy's workbench!!  Following on from those days, John has designed and built many other amplifiers, most of which are in use to this day. In fact, occasionally a "Champ" amp is returned to John's workshop for a service.
