CHAMP ELECTRONICS -" THE VINTAGE VALVE
SERVICING A CARLSBRO CS100 REVERB Mk II PA AMPLIFIER
This is basically the second series of Carlsbro amplifiers...designated with the "Mk2" tag. The chassis is now inverted from the Mk1's and is the correct way up in the case. The circuitry is
pretty much the same, but with the addition of coloured knobs now!
Still the same usual Carlsbro layout though.
Notice now how the
small additional reverb Vero board has been omitted, and the solid-state
components for this are now on the main board.
Clear view of the 25k, 10 watt wire-wound resistor that feeds the solid-state components of the reverb section. Looks like one of the output tube bases has had a flashover at some point in time here too!
A knotted power cord.....I hate to see this on amps! Plus........odd HT diodes.....no big deal though!
As the four EL34's are so close together in these, they get bloody hot but.....they hardly ever break down! Typical Carlsbro reliability!
I promise this is the last time I'm gonna say this........you can't go far wrong with a Carlsbro amp!
