SERVICING A CARLSBRO 50 TOP PURPLE AMPLIFIER HEAD
Although there are already a couple of 50 Top amps on the
website, I still felt compelled to add this one. It is a quite rare Purple Tolex version! The knobs used on this one are certainly original as they were mainly used on the previous series of Carlsbro amps. I guess these knobs were used until stock ran out,
as this model is usually fitted with what I call "Smartie" coloured
knobs!
Gaffa tape on a smoothing cap! What a bodge!
Note here how the main board is marked for the 60PA/5 and the 60TC.......though it was also used for the 50 Top.
The
"Gaffer'd cap" removed, and a few other replacement caps too.
Nice amp!
