As another EBay win, this mint condition [including
original cover], Quad reverb was brought to me for a good service and
check-up.
The owner was already aware of one speaker not working.
I have provision for getting speakers re-coned but, as it is about an
eighty-mile-round-trip, I usually wait until there are five or six to
take........makes sense! In the meantime I fitted a nice new 12", 16 ohm Jenson
to tied him over till his own speaker is ready.
This amp has already had a new power transformer, choke and the main smooting
caps (under the baking-tray) changed. Though pretty much the rest of it was
fine.
Underneath, typical Fender layout but very clean and a nice example of a "good
old amp". After a full service and just one broken knob she is back with her new
proud-and-pleased owner!
