    SERVICING A FENDER VIBROSONIC REVERB COMBO AMPLIFIER

 

 

 In for a full general service and a reverb issue, I think? (I get that many reverb amps in to work on. Sometimes you forget which one is which!). Also, with a nice set of Harma (well....re-branded JJ's really....the best) 6L6's, this one did the rated RMS power too. A nice amp.

 

 
The speaker was not the original & everything had to come out to allow access to all the loose speaker mounting nuts! I think the replaced 15" driver was an EV (?) with a vented/radiated magnet cover. This whole amp was one heavy mother!!

 

 A nice amp, which was completely untouched before now apart from the speaker. 

I added an extra smoothing cap onto the main HT. This tightens things up quite a bit, as a lot of Fenders are on "border-line" when it comes to the main HT caps. The customer was well pleased with the results.
