    SERVICING A 1991 FENDER TWIN REVERB-AMP COMBO

This is actually an import, brought back from the States about 11 years ago by  Neil, its owner. Neil uses a 110 volt transformer on this as it doesn't have voltage selection facilities.

The actual model number of this one is a "Model 65 Twin Reverb-Amp" It also did the full RMS rated power. A very nice, clean & in mint condition amp.

A really nice one, this!

Coming in for a full general service but with a non-working reverb, this simply turned out to be one 100k resistor and the reverb was "back to life"! However, I did find channel two's volume very iffy; it was bursting in and very noisy too. A replacement pot was fitted here.

Look how much has to be removed in order to change just one pot!! Bloody circuit boards.......Grrrr!

A really nice sounding amp though!

Here is Neil's email received a few days after he had picked up his serviced amp:

Hi John. Many thanks for your enthusiasm and care in the repair of my Fender Twin amp. Your attention to detail is second to none, and I would recommend you without hesitation to all tube amp guitarists like me, who have struggled to find someone with the knowledge and skill to service and repair the amp properly. I think my "Twin" sounds as good as the day I bought it!

Many thanks,  Neil - Chesterfield.
