ORANGE AD30R COMBO AMPLIFIER
Hello everybody out there. OK, Orange
gear. Mmmmmm, let me see. What can I tell you about these? Well,
firstly all the Orange amps that I have worked on over the many years
have always been extremely well built, very solid, great wood &
metalwork, all of which makes them pretty heavy beasts too! Even some
of the earlier models used PCB’s (we won’t get into
this!) but they too seem to be pretty tough & reliable.
Their early/original amps always did make the true RMS power, and
in-fact most of the time…well beyond! I have found that,
although all the later products are of just-as-good build quality in
all ways, I nevertheless have had some disappointment when comparing
actual outputs against some of the stated RMS power ratings.
However, I have since spoken in great depth to Adrian Emsley (he is the
designer & tech-guy at Orange….he is a good, helpful
guy), and as far as I am aware most of these early issues have now been
corrected.
