SERVICING OF A PEAVEY 5150 Mk II AMPLIFIER HEAD

Don, the owner of this amp, said it just wasn’t sounding right anymore!

A general service and a new set of JJ 6L6’s soon sorted the problem (the JJ 6L6’s are really good).

Note all the small pre-amp & drive tubes tucked away in the back, left hand corner.

I remember Don ringing me after collecting his serviced amp and saying it was sounding great! In-fact, he went on to add “it has never sounded this good”. I just love happy customers, it makes all the effort so well worth while!!

The sad & tired looking set of Ruby 6L6’s that were removed. Actually, on the few occasions that I have used new Ruby tubes, they have performed really well. The word out there is that they don’t last as long as other brands though. (?)
