Power section as first removed. Correct me if I’m wrong here but……do I see bodging yet again? A gas-pipe clip holding the added smoothing cap in place!

selm4c.jpg

Yes…..definitely bodged!

selm4d.jpg

After the replacement of a used-but-good smoothing cap, a new power cable, anchorage all-round, a few new components & tidy-up.....she performed really nicely!

selm4e.jpg

There were some bad or missing tubes in this one. They all got replaced of course……including the JJ EL84’s.

selm4f.jpg

Pre-amp before work. Typical duff Hunts caps again…Uhh!

And after all replaced components.

Back to life and on a full soak-test.

I hate “unused holes” in a chassis, so I have put a blanking grommet in here plus some nuts & bolts too. Love the old Goodmans Audium 60 driver.

Lovely old amp. Didn't the Beatles use something like this back in Hamburg?
