Quite a nice bass amp.

Alright wiring……I suppose!

Two chokes in parallel, probably to keep them smaller and able to fit under the chassis.

The output transformer on these is huge! It is actually larger than the power tranny which.. is usually the other way around. I think it’s a bit of an over-kill really but….as a bass amp.. the larger output tranny will perform better at very low frequencies!

Yes, I am well-aware that there are two different brands of output tubes here. Two of them were fine and the other original two were completely shot! I replaced the duff two with a slightly used-but-good pair and she set-up really well with these. Another point worth mentioning here: On most amps with multiple push-pull output stages, the tubes, if in a row are normally Left Vs Right (working from the centre outwards….regardless of how many tubes) for the push-pull. However, in these it is actually 1 & 2 in push-pull + 3 & 4 in parallel with 1 & 2 respectively…..an easy one to overlook when replacing tubes and setting up the bias and balance!

No back panel with this one but not a bad amp. Nevertheless, I wasn’t however too impressed with its final power rating (about 130 watts & she wouldn’t go any more); though it still sounded pretty good!
