I
installed one in the ER15, (the other being a spare), connected up the
speaker and guitar and turned on! There was no big bang –
which was a relief! The ‘On’ light shone
and gradually the heaters all glowed gently. After what I thought was
long enough for everything to warm up I had a moment’s
disappointment! I couldn’t hear a sound from the speaker, not
the slightest hum or buzz! As I reached forward to turn one of the
controls I must have brushed the guitar strings, ‘cos the
room suddenly filled with guitar noise! I played a few notes and a
large grin spread across my face! It sounded wonderful! I played with
the controls – no buzzes, pops or bangs – so they
seem clean. I then tried the second channel and that sounded
the same! I’ve been playing with it for most of the day now,
and it seems to be working perfectly! I’ve reinstalled it
into the case and tried it again.......perfect! All I can say is that
I’m very pleased with the result! I phoned my son and left a
load of guitar noise on his voicemail!
John
– I think this is now the time to thank you as much as I can
for the help you have given me. I am absolutely sure that without your
advice, support , knowledge and skill I would never have been able to
get this amp functioning again! I hope you won’t mind if I
contact you again in the future – this amp actually belongs
to my son, but I want one of my own now, so I may have to repeat the
process! If I do, I’m sure I’ll need your help
again!
Thanks
so much! Colin."
